The fish available in my local fish store are quite limited. Has anyone ordered fish online? In particular have you tried this site

Discountfish - Buy Online Marine Fish & Marine Inverts

On the one hand I can't see how this would be a good idea or kind to the fish, but on the other they must get delivered to the fish shop some how.

    Thanks

Lots of people order fish online, though actually seeing the fish in person first is preferred by a lot of people. Make sure when you buy fish online that they come from reputable, well known places and have a good guarantee.

I don't know about the website you posted, as it's in the UK. But do some research and ask around about the particular website you are considering and make sure to check their guarantee.

When I first started I thought shipping was terrible, but since then I've ordered several fish online because that's the easiest way to find the fish I want. Plus, fish are shipped to the pet store, so it's not an unusual procedure.

Thanks they have a dead on arrival guarantee, but I am more concerned that they may arrive distressed and then die.

I haven't heard of ordering online before so am a bit cautious

It's best to find a place that has an x-day guarantee after arrival. Foster and Smith has a 14 day.

Also read the guarantee. I remember one store that some one here posted about, they would only give store credit, and you had to have a min order to use it. So they made you spend more money before you could use your credit. I wont mention the name, but always read the fine print. :)
