whatever you do, do not drip acclimate!! the rapid pH swing will cause the ammonia to spike and likely kill. I know its all said and done now, but just as a future warning.

with the urchins i would have drip acclimated but with the snails and such, just float for 15 min or so then add directly to the tank. here are instrustions from john maloney himself (the god of CUC)

I really hope everything else is fine for you! I try and not place any orders in the winter unless its a really big order, like a group order where there is a bunch of bags and water to help hold the heat. Better off to wait or get what you need locally.

Reefs2go is a perfectly good place to order from, they will take care of any losses just as well as John does. You just have to contact them in they way they tell you to. I have been dealing with them since back when all they did was Ebay sales. We have placed group orders as big as 1000 dollars with her with out a single problem.

Don't get me wrong though, I am not saying that Reef cleaners AKA John Mahoney isn't a great place to order from either, I have bought tons of stuff from John also, love his selection of Macros.

When you get orders like that that are COLD and the water is really dirty sometime the best course of action it scrap the drip acclimation and get them out of the cold and dirty water as fast as possible.

As far as the Sea Urchins go all you really have to worry about it making sure you Salinity is the same as the water that they are in. Its quick changes in salinity that
will do them in more than anything else. What did you do with that urchin you thought
was dead? because to me it look unhappy at the very most. They can take several days to get happy and motivated again.

Just to be clear . The rising PH does not make the ammonia spike it just makes it more toxic. The level of ammonia will stay the same its just not as toxic at a lower PH. That is why I don't reccomend drip acclimating anything.8) I USUALLY JUST TEST THE BAG WATER FOR SALINITY AND PH TO MAKE SURE ITS NOT TO BIG OF A SWING.Sorry for the caps. As long as it still has its spines it might be ok.
