They may not be getting enough food, I assume you are spot feeding the anemone and clown.

maybe you have heavy metals in your water.

    or maybe not enough flow

This may sound like a crazy question, but how else am I going to learn ?

    Why test ?

When I test & find my parameters a bit off, I dose. For example, the last time I tested, my calcium was @ 360. I knew that was a bit low so I began to dose, very slowly. ( more slowly that suggested in the directions ) I didn't want any sudden changes. It didn't matter. Things went from bad to worse. Every time I dose, I live to regret it. Many have told me that if you are diligent about your water changes in a system as small as this, there was no reason to test or dose.
Can you tell I am full of questions & have a lot to learn ? ( LOL )
Can you tell how anxious I am to have a beautiful coral reef ? I can be patient.I would just like to see some evidence that I am moving in the right direction.

In this entire thread I see no list of your parameters. That'd be a good place to start for some to help, instead of just general advise. If you feel there's something wrong, a full list of parameters may indicate what exactly.

With a tank that small I'd really make sure the water your adding during changes matches the water in the DT .Personally I have no experience with nano's so I could be wrong.

What type of lighting do you have? Pictures would help come up with a solution. And Purigen is an amazing filtration. It removes phosphates and other waste. It's little white beads that absorb organic waste. When dirty, it goes from almost perfect white to dark brown. It can be used over and over again if regenerated correctly, too.

To everyone who has commented on Ocaeansurf's post's thus far. He has posted many threads recently asking about this tank. He will NOT post pictures, will NOT post his params, and does NOT take advice (Is this some type of prank?). I have tried to give him some advice on at least three different threads he's started within the last week or so. It seems when he decides he doesn't like what he hears he then starts a new thread asking the same thing and leaves the old one. Oceansurf, If you want your tank to do well post pictures, post your params, and listen to the advice people have given you. WOW- TA I didnt even realize that was happening - Oceansurf - please help us help you.

There have been likely nearly a dozen requests from the people you are asking for help to provide the actual parameters of your system. This has not happened.

It would be like calling up your Family Doctor and expecting them to cure you over the phone when all you tell them is "I am not well."

The parameters are the "vital" signs of the tank. All parameters are related - but not always completely dependent on each other. In other words, the Ca and pH might be ok but maybe your nitrates are high - maybe your rock is leching phosphates or heavy metals into the tank?!?

Until you actually post params/pics - you will find yourself only the more frustrated.

We want you to have a successful tank as well and Nanos tho not the easiest are certainly not impossible - more than one of us among this forum's members have started in land of nanos.

But the issue some of us are having here is that you are asking for help from people whom you make at least some assumption have good intentions for you and also good information.

When many of those people from whom you are requesting help request some simple help from you and they do not get it, you can imagine why you are note getting the answers "you want to hear."

Throws some pics/full param rundown and I am willing to bet someone here can tell you exactly whats wrong, how to fix it and how to not make the same mistakes again!!!

Everything stopped ! No answers to my questions. No more tips from those who have had success with nanos. Is that it ?

As stated above, the pics and parameters are very important. We cant really help without knowing them.
    M-Ocean Man, great doctor scenario.
I started out with a 5 gallon reef, and it worked great, but I was inexperienced at the time.

There are reasons I have not posted a pic or given you parameters, but it is too embarrassing to talk about.
    I'm sorry for my actions.
I must say your comments hurt me, but I understand why you said them. I'll get the info to you when/if I am able.
Sorry to have wasted your time.
