Hi, just moved the 75g to my house...got new substrate and tried to keep the LR untouched traveled in original tank water.

So lots of stuff is on the LR and I think I should have shook them off before, but too late for that..

So NOW, the pineapple sponges are still popping up everywhere but at the same time, some are dying off...do I need to vaccum these off or what? What do I do about totally dirty LR? Just leave it be?

I would get a good clean up crew and let them go to work. You could try scrubbing the LR some but if it has been in tank water for the full move you may end up killing more than you help.

What i did when i purchased from my LFS is just go in my bath tub...grab my LR toothbrush and quickly scrub and rinse it off, did that will all my LR, even removed some nasty green bubble alage off it.

    Goodluck

Is there anything wrong with pineapple sponges? Are they undesirable or do you just not like the way they look? I have some so I'm just wondering.

    well

Don't mid the pineapple sponges but when they die off it looks like slime. Also, maybe I have a case of algae that I am just not aware of, but under the rocks where there is not much flow or light, there are web-like stuff. Whitish and droopy looking slime.
