    Hi to all,
I am in the progress of setting up a tank and would like to know how do you maintain your CAL and KH if they stay low, I am using Kent turbo cal and Aquamedic KH buffer.
Can some one please give me some advise?

Get a Calcium reactor, it will be the best purchase you make on your tank.

It all depend on the size of your tank! kalk be cheaper if is greater than 30g or so
for nano reef I would just make frequent water changes 15 to 25% of the total water volume of the tank, little bit at the time!

Or you can use kalk with a dripper. I just pour some cal and dkh additives after I test for it, as needed of course. Luna

Well if you have a sump and the test kits just test the water to see where the Ca and DKH is at don't fotget Magnesium and then just does it with whats needed Just add the elements to the sump some mix them in RO water first I never did I just put in right into the sump , Just allow a hr or so between adding the different additives . Like I always used a dosing cup like from a cough syrup or my favorite was the old shot glass.. Toss in the Ca then wait then toss in equal amount of Buffer a hr or so later then the Magnesium then test . Then see where you are at then add again as needed keeping the three elements as even as you can .

    Ca 425 to 500
    Dkh 12 to 14
    Mag 1300ppm to 1400

Once you get the elements to the desired levels then weekly testing until you learn the system then does what is needed as its needed. But once you get them settled in and learn the amount the corals up take you will get to just know when whats needed by looking at the animals in there.. And bi monthly testing .
But Like Otty mentiond the Ca reactor is the shizznet to keep it rock solid and less trouble on you.
