I've had this caulerpa issue for about 2 months now and what a F$&king headache. I've read read read about it and picked picked picked this crap out an it continues to grow beyond belief. Seems the more I pick it out the more it grows, I just picked a handful out Friday, walked over to check out my tank a few min ago and there the crap was growing in front of me( not literally). Anyone know of anyway, anything I can do or get to help. Nuking is my last resort an will prob cause me to sell off. This crap is pushing me to the end. It's worse then ich!!! any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks peps

I had let it grow in the 125 because it looked cool with the seahorses, but I was worried about it going asexual so decided to pull it out. It wasn't really that bad. At first, when you pull it off, the roots still have a lot of energy and they shoot new leaves up quickly. After a few pickings it slows down fast. I use an Aquatic Gardener with the pliers type attachment to grab it out. Caulerpa is nothing compared to bryopsis. Come to think of it, are you sure it's caulerpa? Btw, how's the family?

Is it that Grape Caulerpa you have gsxr1000rider?

that stuff is a bit more tricky than the blade of feather types
the roots are really flimsy and you end up leaving some when you try and pull out the strands

with the feathery types, I could pull out long lenghts of it at a time and could easily remove from an aquarium in that manner

with grape caulerpa, I never had much to start with and found that hermit crabs dealt with any small amounts that came in on corals or frags

    what size tank is it?

apparently Fox face are often suggested as the best fish for consuming grape caulerpa
so a combination of manual removal couple with fish and inverts that will consume it
    may be your best bet

plus running GFO to remove phosphate from water and thus help starve it out

if it is calupera then it should be a favorite of tangs... I had a few stray pieces that found there way into my tank by some mysterious means about 7ish months ago. My naso tang scoured the rocks and the second a shoot would start to grow, he snatched it up asap. I guess he ate it all because I havent seen any for quite a few months now
