I dis-agree Pack. I have heard several stories, I believe one was Tangster. That said a tempered glass shatters when you get almost through. I remember this because someone was trying to prove it could be done. Got about 3/4 and thought they had it beat, then bam it shattered. Exactly like this one.

I personally wouldnt risk drilling any tank without taking it to a glass shop to see if it was tempered glass. I had a 55 that cracked before I could use it but only the bottom pane was tempered

I've heard that too. You can get part way through on tempered but at the end it shatters. Here is an example.

And thats exactly what happened to me. :) That is exactly how it happened and the glass did the same thing! Do you think I should get a new tank or just replace the bottom pane? Great vid K+, brings back some bad memories if you know what I mean! haha..

I'd probably just get a new tank. You'd either have to get a tempered piece the exact size or have a glass shop cut you an extra thick piece. The problem is the brace on the bottom may not fit if the glass is thicker. May not be worth the hassle or the risk.

Hopefully I can find another tank on sale...every lesson learned in this hobby is so expensive. One step forward and two steps back.

Hang in there. Nothing in life worth doing is easy.
