making a sump

    Is there any way to do a sump filter without drilling my tank? Can anyone point me to a good DIY thread or video or a sump that isnt to expensive

    Alternatively, some intrepid young reefers have taken to DIY overflows. If you're up to the task (it's not particularly hard, even if you have no DIY skills whatsover) you can build one quite cheaply out of PVC - mine cost about $11 when all was said and done (not including cement, I already had that - but it's like $4 for a small can).

    There's pros and cons to both DIY and HOB overflows, of course. If you google DIY overflow plans you'll find thousands of pages of information that detail both.
