Making a sump

For my 75 gal I just wanna put a little sump below the tank so I can use my Remora and put a canopy on the tank. I was thinking of using just a 10-30gal tank that I have sitting around getting a overflow box and some pump. How would I go about matching the return to the overflow box? What pump?
