    Greetings from Raleigh, NC!

I've been keeping freshwater tanks for several years now and currently have a 125G CA cichlid/characin tank seen here:

See that plant pulled up in the front? Usually, all of them are like that. I'm really going to have to redo the decor sometime with some heavy rock work. The culprit is this joker right here:

    (H. Carpintis sp. Escondido)

whose sole mission in life is to constantly rearrange things and move all the sand from one side of the tank to the other and back again. All day, every day.

At any rate, after coming across an awesome deal on a 34G Solana rimless cube w/ a 250W MH pendant the other day, I have decided to start a reef tank. The tank is currently housing a mated pair of F1 true Honduran Red Points until they are big enough to move into the 125. In the mean time I'll be planning the layout of the tank and acquiring equipment (got my first box of supplies from Drs. F&S in yesterday). Expect a build thread in the near future.

    Thanks for reading!

    Welcome

If you can keep a freshwater tank looking like that, I can't wait to see what you can do with a reef!
