Malachite green... poly filter

    I bought a poly filter and it turned malachite green.. or a brownish greeen color fo having malachite in it.. Is this a bad thing.. what can i do to remove it.?

    Rinse it well in your sink. It's probably just phytoplankton and detritus. If the polyfilter comes clean, that's what it is.

    PS....if it was really Malachite Green your silicone holding your glass panes together wouldn't be clear anymore....they take on a greenish/bluish hue.
