Maybe on a day you are bored just stick your hand in your tank until he gets bored as a form of desensitization. Then try doing that every day for a while and see if it helps? I would think eventually he will realize his attacks are futile and just give up... however I like the shark teeth tattoo idea.

Two Little Fishes released this new target feeder that is really long. It has replacable tips that can be cut for different uses (target feeding, aiptasia killing). Seems really cool and would let you feed anywhere in the tank without getting bit.

My female clown fish has drawn blood. Grabbed a fold of skin on the knuckle and ripped it.... now I too have hand-in-tank anxiety. I bought the arm length red/blue gloves which are great for moving rocks... but for any delicate work like fragging or killing aptasia I go in bare handed... so I have a system now...

Whenever I need to do anything major in the tank I put her in one of those "hang on" tanks and let her be pissed off. She knows the drill now at least... the first few times was tough to get her in it, now I just lure her up to the top of the tank, distract her with one hand and come in from behind with the tank... it's clear plastic, so she can sense it, but not see it... usually get her on the first try. I usually reward her with a few food pellets and get my work done as quick as possible...

The male mostly ignores me. sometimes he'll come up and bump my finger to see if I have any food, and when he's sure I don't he doesn't bother me.

Anyways... the little hang on tanks are $5-8 depending on what size you need.... worth every penny.

ob. tangent: My grandma lived in Key West on a canal for several years and had a HUGE tamed trigger (dunno what species) that lived around her houseboat. Every day she would feed it Vienna sausages. One day she was waving her hand in the water and it came up and took off her left ring finger at the first knuckle, completely took it off. She left Florida about 2 months later and was terrified of fish after that.
