My 2 clowns have been getting along great for 3 weeks now. No fighting, always swimming and eating with each other. But just last night at their dinner feeding, the male didn't eat. This morning he didn't eat also. The female is a pig, thankfully. The male looks fine, but he is laying near, sometimes on the bottom othe tank on his belly, only swimming up just a little. He's not breathing hard or even looks stressed. The female stays near him, only swimming up for food or just swims away for a moment then comes back near him.

Is this normal at times for fish to not be interested in food? This morning he moved toward some food, but didn't eat it. It's just him and the female in a 75 gal. It's od because he doesn't look sick at all. He will turn around or move around a little, but won't leave that spot.

I had a similar problem with my midas blenny, Unfortunately, i never figured out what the issue was and I lost him.

Hopefully, thats not the case for you. Someone else with a bit more marine disease knowledge than me should be able to help you out.

The only thing I can suggest is to try and feed something tasty to entice him to eat. My fish go nuts for mysis and you can even soak it in garlic or selcon too

Does it appear he can swim up and down fine? May be swim bladder related.

What are you feeding them. Have you tried soaking food on selcon or garlic. Try looking up swim bladder infection.

He does go up and down at times during the day. He looks healthy, just won't eat. He spends more than most of the day on the ground on his belly.

Even fish that can thrive on most anything can become finicky. Perhaps you should try something a little more natural... I've never had a Clownfish (or any other type of Damsel) refuse frozen brine or mysis.
