Yay! I'm finally posting a question that's NOT an emergency! ;D I bought a pair of mandarins a few days ago. I did research them before buying, but due to info recieved on other threads here I'm finding I didn't do enough research. I have a 29 gallon biocube, live rock (about 25-30 lbs) that's about 4 months old. I've been adding one bottle per week of live copepods for about a month. since buying the mandarins I've been adding 2 bottles of live copepods every other day. The female (Juliet, lol) is also accepting fortified brine shrimp readily. Romeo is still only eating copepods, which I will continue to provide as long as I have the fish. Am I doing enough? Any feeding or care tips? These are my absolute favorite fish, I want them to be happy and healthy, so any info you can give on their care will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

You will be surprised how fast 1 mandarinwill decimate your pod population. Two mandarins are even scarier. I would highly recommend a pod farm attached to your tank like a seperate 10 or 15 gallon for feeding these guys. You said you want to keep them long and happy. A Pod Farm will help with this.

I have also seen some success with feeding them misaga(not sure about right spelling, sushi fish eggs.

Thanks so much for your help guys :) I lost my clean up crew in the salinity spike I had last week (I know what I did wrong, and it's mistake I won't make again. I hate it when stuff dies because I was stupid.) But I need critters to clean algae and waste. I was thinking of a few dwarf blue legs (which I had before) and a marble serpent star since it eats waste and is extremely peaceful. Will either of these cause a prob with my mandarins? I did research them, but wanting to confirm my research was accurate before buying anything else. Thanks again guys! :)

Definatley get on that pod farming, I waited a year to put a single dragonet in my 120, and im still nervous. I have a 39 gal sump with lots of live rock in it, but im in the process of adding a 45 gal cube into the system as a refugium, just to keep him fat and happy with pods.

Bloodworms also work. What I have noticed is that once they take prepared food you can mix in other foods into the food they readily take. I started with brine as well, and now mine eats brine, mysis, and bloodworms. I just started added a small amount of mysis and bloodworms to the brine and used a baster to put the food in the water column right in front of him.
