I have a six line that will eat mysis/brine and pods! I am thinking about getting a mandarin but my tank is too small!

nice ya i think you should definatley get a mandarin but just stock ur fuge with pods and how many how many pods have you added to ur dt and fuge already also id try feeding ur six line more and more prepared food so ur mandarin will have a greater food supply and also i suggest you add some more live rock

Even though your sixline eats things other than pods, it still eats pods. Its what they do in the wild. And believe me, a mandarin or a six line is not going to turn a pod down because its not an iso or an amphid or a copepod. They don't care. If its crawling and fits in their mouth, I'm sure they will eat it.

12000 pods sounds like a lot but over 9 months with a sixline, most are probably gone. A mandarin could wipe that amount out in a week.

The refuge is your best bet. Also, the live rock in your main tank should produce food for him also.
Best bet is to have your tank up and running at least 1 year before buying. I know they're cheap but why kill an innocent fish?
Don't buy a fancy plant light for the fuge either. Just go to Home Depot and get a clip on utility light with a plant bulb and your good to go.
