I've always wanted a Mandarin Goby, but if I got a 100 gallon tank i'd be tempted to make it into a reef tank, which i dont have the money for. I've been reading about mandarin gobies and feeding them seems to be the only difficult thing about having one. Has anyone tried keeping a mandarin goby in a 20 gallon tank fowlr with like a 50 gallon sump/refugium for raising pods? I was thinking if you had an algae turf scrubber you could feed the pods in the sump with algae, and they could reproduce without being decimated by the dragonet in the sump.
Anyone try this, or know whether this might possibly work well?

yea, but from what I've read it's pretty tough and its luck of the draw to get one that will accept any. I've also read they have pretty high metabolisms and like to feed constantly which is why the fuge idea seems like the only way to go if your getting a smaller tank. I can't seem to find any threads about it with anyone trying it though
