well for me i did a little trick for my dragonets, i made some areas of rock where they can go to...so when i look there, there are all different stages of pods and that keeps my dragonets happy :) they also will eat frozen brine shrimp though...

You could also buy live pods and add them to your tank.

I was thinking the same thing, but how are these sold? Live copepod/amphipod eggs or frozen or what?

Well I still havent made my mind up on the Mandarin yet... I think I might go to the LFS this weekend and see if they have any that will eat brine or other foods.

Reef Nutrition sells live pods for the Mandarin. Check them out here www.copepod.com or www.reefnutrition.com. Go get the mandarin!

I called down to the LFS today and the guy told me they have one that will eat frozen brine and 3 that will not. Im going to go down there this week and see if he will feed while I watch... If it eats brine then I will definatly get it.

I find pods live in my external mechanical filter all the time having made it threw the impellor all the time. I also seeded my refuge with pods and my main tank is just full of live pods now, so I believe that if you have a sump on a smaller tank that it will continually supply the tank with fresh pods.

Anybody think that it will supply my pod stockpile in my tank if I added green grape algea on LR and caluerpa in my tank? I know it will refuge a lot of the pods, wont it? Also, I know I wont be able to have any herbivores in the tank, especially tangs, but I'm willing to sacrifice not getting a tang for my mandarin dragonet's health.
