How do I know if my tank is ready for a mandarin goby. I really dont want to go to a fish store and buy one if im not ready for one. My tank has been running for 4 or 5 months now and about 80% of the LR in my tank is purchased from another aquarist who had a very mature tank, and the rock is teaming with life. Im not SO sure on the feeding requirements of these fish. I dont have live sand, so i thought that might be important to include. thanks!

I dont have one but I think you have to have a good amount of pods, or they will starve to death since they wont eat anything else.

Thats what I thought. It would seem like they would take it as it is a similar food to their natural diet. So, do you pretty much need a Refugium to keep them?

At least one year if there is nothing else in the tank competing for food source.
