I may be wrong but i thinka well established tank with refugium(at least 1 year) along with plenty of LR and the Mandarin should have enough food to survive.

It's possible, especially if they were not eating for a while before they ended up in your tank.

My opinion do it! I had 2 manderins in a 29 bio with absolutly no adding of pods. They ate brine and you would see them munching on pods. Now i have them in my 125g and there they have all the food in the word but still go after the brine when I feed the fishes. Its all about how they are eating in the store and time devoted to the fish

When they pick at stuff it's usually because the are eating. It also helps to have them eat brine. If you get one at an LFS make sure they eat brine. That way they are eating something other than co-pods. The thing is it is hard to get them to eat frozen. I've had my mated pair for a year and the still only eat brine or co-pods.

my wife makes fun of me because i bought a huge leather recliner just to sit in front of the tank. it looks strange and is probably a feng shui nightmare, but everyone who stops by never leaves that chair. i spend an unhealthy amount of time with the guys. i should probably just buy a snorkel
