    i would but that being said i have tried to keep green dots and failed 3 times. i would get a blue mandarin. i had one for 6 years and now one for three. they seem to take to frozen food better than the green dot imo.

    They do indeed have a thicker slime coat that will help protect them from some external parasites. They are also more sensitive to most medications, so it's a bit of a trade off. I would QT it for the sole purpose of attempting to train it to eat frozen. Even if it's only for about a week, they are much easier to train when alone in a tank. Have him throw some pods and frozen in at the same time.
