Yea my fuge is isolated from my pumps. Its its own chamber and the water overflows to the return like so....

so the only way the mandarin could get hurt is if he jumped over the baffle to go in the return. I'll pop him in tonight while I get a new mandarin diner setup with a bigger jar in my display. I will also be setting up more pod piles in my display at the same time. Hopefully I can get this fish fattened up enough and back on track. i kinda think buying pods is going to be a waste of money because I already have the infestation of pods in my fuge, I just need them to get to the display faster than they are.

It won't be a waste if it keeps him alive long enough for you to straighten the problem out.

The mandarin in the pic is a beauty ... well worth $15 just to try.

Best of luck ... keep us updated!

Matteuw, don't think you answered me on the WRS... Have you tried the fish eggs? Those tend to work, it just takes a few days for them to catch on.
Also PE mysis works on many finicky fish even smaller ones..
Remember that northern dragonette we have at the shop? Granted its a fair size but that thing will ONLY eat PE mysis and eats the heck out of it.

Worth a shot, or like stated toss her(him) in the fuge for a bit to fatten up.

Also have you ever just taken some of the chaeto and shaken it in the DT to let some copepods fall out?

they also say if ur using ur fuge for food production then it has to be setup above the display tank with a pump in the display or sump going up to the fuge and a overflow down to the dt . that way ur pods get to the display without being hurt or going against gravity
