I know Mandarins are pretty hardy when it comes to getting Ich, because of there slime coat.
Well i have added a mandarin and he has started to develope white spots on him. Could this just be the mucas picking up my sand bed from where he scoots around in it? or do i have a bigger porblem at hands.
IF he does have ich i would like to remove him now, cause none of my other fish are infected. I have only noticed these spots on him right after i purchased. Would it hurt to give him a freshwater dip anyway?

if you have a hospital tank set up then i dont see the harm in it but since you just added him if it is ick its probubly from the stress of being in a new tank. personnally id wait a couple of days. i hope you did your research on their requirments though good luck

ok not trying to be rude or anything ive just seen a bunch of ppl buy them without doing research. my guess is that it is ich because they spend so much time on the bottom i doubt that there slime would pick up sand just because it would be impractical

bla...... So after chasing him with a net for 5mins. I got a closer inspection...
Im just tripping out i guess.
I would say it was my sand, it is very fine white sand. He looks completly healthy now.... I say after he darted off real fast from my net it all came loose from his slime coat.
