the females argue during the day but they seem to less and less as time passes.... and here they are all sleeping together, females side by side....go figure....

I dont recommend anyone to do this, unless you really know what you're doing. the only reason why I have three mandarins in my 120g is because I have no other solemn copepod feeder (my new wrasses may be an issue though)...and because I have a weakness for mandarins.

the male and his old female have been glorious for two + years now, the new female was added about a month ago and has fattened up nicely. i dont have a picture of her old self unfortunately so you'll have to take my word for it ( those who know mandarins in LFS know they tend to be painfully thin) but ill post pics of all three tomorrow when they roam if i have the chance.

note the old female was disturbed in the second picture, you can catch her eye looking at the light source.

also its meant to read "old female"....

so just a little update, all three are doing well. aggression between the two females has pretty much ceased all together and the new little one is fatteing up more and more...and thats always a pleasure to see.....

its funny to watch them as some times it seems like they are doing "syncronized eating" the literally both move little up the glass at the same time..stop...stare...and peck in perfect syncro.

Does that tank have algae? Every person I know that kept them always let algae grow, more than you would in a reef tank.

What a beautiful fish they are.

Those are 3 very lucky fish. I am sure you'll start to see the dance of love soon.
