Well it's time to trim the roots system on my Red Mangroves. How do I go about doing this? Do I just cut the the roots down with scissors? Please advise and thanks in advance 3reef!!

Yep you got it. Just chop away, but leave as much of the root as you can stand. More frequent smaller trimmings is preferred.

Also if you have any small white hair like roots leave those unless they are close to the silicone. I am not sure if they are important to mangrove trees in particular, but my bonsai books all say to leave those if possible.

    Sharp scissors will work fine.

Thanks Stepho. Most, if not all my roots have the white little "hairs" on them. I guess that is a good sign?

Yes. Typically the small white hair roots absorb nutrients while the larger roots anchor the tree.
