    ok so i got one today and i'm puttion it into my main dysplay(a 10 gallon)
    how would i do this and what are some advantages/disadvanteges of mangroves

    keep its top above water, spray it with fresh water every day to remove salt, keep it away from your silicon seams
    pros will export your nitrates and phosphates, if you like the roots it looks cool
    cons you have a tree in your display tank, if not trimmed properly it will put a whole in your roof.

    Get about 4 more and place in a very high flow and a good strong light then you may see some exportation of NO3s and PO4s one is about like a spit in the ocean. I always ran about 1 per Gal or 1 per two gallons and all in troughs with blasting currents . Mangroves are far over rated Never washed any off :) The main disadvantage is they will remove many trace elements and a it just takes so many to make any difference really. If you just want to keep it in a tank ? then just make a Styrofoam float and like it float around But in the overflow would be best place for it. But the benefits are variable and there are better ways to get the same results and more dependable results ..
