    bit of a stupid noob question but what do u guys do with these things to keep them under control when the get so big, is it that easy to just hack them down to smaller size?

    I do not know how long it takes for leaves to show up, this is my first experiment with mangroves.

    When the plants get big enough I will simply prune them down to size. If I need to I will prune the roots also.
