    Can someone tell me if this is a little mantis. It just looks like it with the little strikers in front. He is about 3/8 inch long. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic. I found him as I was target feeding my sun polyps tonight.

    Did you grab it with your hands? It looks like it's not in the tank, which is the only reason I'm asking. If you pulled it out of the tank with your hands, and it didn't try beating them up, I'd say it's not a mantis lol.

    No I usually bowl feed my polyps and it came out of the base of the coral into the bowl. I grabbed the little guy with a tweezers.

    I would try teasing it with some tweezers; a mantis would usually attack, and that'll be some decent assurance that it's not.

    Well yes and no sometimes he will look as if he is poking at the tweezers sometimes it swims away. I have just never seen any pods this big in my tank before.
