Also I would recommend a mesh lid of some sort. I am using plastic "gutter guard" it is cheap, affective, and black so it doesn't look bad. I am not sure about O. scyllarus in particular but its relatives O. japonicus and O. havanensis are very prone jumpers. All odontodactylus species are capable of propelling themselves several inches out of the water.
