no clue how thick but pretty thick because of how big it is. it is a glass tank. she is a O. japonicus and she is only 3 1/2 to 4 inches long.

they are closely related to peacock mantises, which are strong smashers. how tall is the tank, or rather how large is the largest pane of glass. the more surface area pressed by water, the weaker the glass is to a smash. I would definitely be careful. For now, you could take thin acrylic like Lexan or something similar and line the tank. Good luck to you

ive got my 4-5 inch wennerae in a 3 gallon picotope. he is very lazy and my tank is plumbed into my 90 gal system so the 3 gallon fits him fine. He just chills in his cave all day with some re-arranging here and there, and of course the occasional destruction of a rock crab :)

i get my rock crabs from my LFS. on rock shipment days they get a bunch of them off the live rock so i get them for free but otherwise i buy them for 1.99, a small price to pay but definitely worth it. my mantis also eats krill and sand eels when i dont have crabs on hand. i am going to make my mantis a pvc home soon as well!
