    yeah smithii's dont really break glass period. well thats what one of the guys from stomatopod.com said to me.

    He has an O. Japonicus which gets as large as a Peacock and hits just as hard. Still I think a 50 or 70 is going to be plenty thick.

    yeah i work at a lfs but i got the mantis from another. i totaly forgot about asking them for some!

    50's or 70's are AT LEAST 3/8" thick, if not 1/2". Or more. IDK on the specs. If that's not a mantis heaven I don't know what is :lol:

    And yeah, Bo (our smithii) hits everything but the glass. Snails and crabs get demolished. He hits the feeder tongs. He hits rocks. He hits the back plastic of the biocube. He hits me. But he's only hit the glass once, and that was a test tap to see what it was when we first got him. Maybe he's just too smart to hit the glass :p He must take after his owners :)

    I agree. I have never really given it more than a glance since my interest is primarily in smashers, but it is really cool looking.

    so i think im gonna keep my girl for a while then trade her in to get a different mantis... maybe idk yet. i really like Neogonodactylus wennerae stomatopods and that is what i was originally looking for.
