My mantis is a hider, but when ever i start playing guitar in my room, he comes out and sit in from of the glass until i stop playing. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed anything similer? I know they are smart little buggers, but didnt know they were this smart.

Depending on how loud, it could just be the sound waves making vibrations that he feels? I don't know if they can hear though, but wouldn't doubt it with their other senses being so amazing.

I am not sure whether they hear or not. It certainly seems like they can, if yours comes out to hear you play guitar. I have noticed mine love television, especially Fister when hockey was on.

True. I was thinking more of a lateral line type of sense, but now that I think about it, that's what hearing is, they're just a big external ear. Anyways, if they can hear, try to train it to come when you call, I'm sure they are smart enough.

Mine likes trumpet, the sound of metal tweezers hitting the glass (aka feeding time ;) ) and certain radio stations.
