I have a newly aquired zebra mantis and im contemplating tank mates for him.he is roughly 3 inches so he's a baby:). For those that don't know zebras r spearors noot smashers.so fish are out and inverts are in lol...though he has 3 feer fish still swimming around with him since I transitioned him onto frozen foods. So what tank mates would you choose?

as far as inverts? anything that isn't soft bodied, so no starfish, maybe some urchins.

IMO a fish that hangs out in the mid to top section of the water is fine with a spearer.

the staghorn hermits reside in a skeleton of a staghorn coral (SPS) exact care as regular hermits.

My 2 peacocks in the past would let me hold them and turn them on their backs to" rub their belly"lol...got tagged afew times the shock is worse then the actual injuries sustained....don't know what a spearor injury would be though, ill be sure to post it up whenn I find out lol.

Im noot so keen on urchins these days but mabe a tuxido.cucumbers would work though im not sure they would be off the menu? If I can find a small tiger cowry that would be cool too hmmmm

I'd definitely keep cucumbers away. They can spew toxins if attacked and kill the entire tank. And being soft-bodied... a very bad idea, IMHO...

Yeah I thiink that's solid advice. I wonder if garden eels would make for good candidates?....as a side note looking into staghornn hermits they have a type of living hydriod coral on their back I believe they require bright light and higher flow rates aswell as spot feedings.... I may give 1 a go.
