    No guarantees and every fish has its own personality and can go against general behavioral trends. If all fish are juveniles then you have a much better chance of them "growing up" together. This can avoid personality conflicts but nothing in this hobby is 100% guaranteed.

    [glow=Black, 3, 80%]Roger, I've finally cooled off enough to write something...

    Why bother asking for our opinions if you are going to do what your want anyway?? That Maculosus is a fine fish, but will outgrow that 90g in a very short time. On top of that, I've seen specimens that are very aggressive to their tankmates, particularly as they get older.

    [glow=Maroon, 3, 80%]How can a Map Angel compare to the beauty of a Personifer or a Singapore (both very docile fish)?? You are listening too much too your LFS and using your credit card way too often. SLOW DOWN, and get the fish you want. There is a reason the Maculosus doesn't cost as much as a Personifer; it isn't nearly as pretty.

    But, I'm out of it now. You are on your own...

    now, i intend no offense or disrespect in the following response.

    i have been doing plent of research using several books recommended by YOU among other wrassman. i found a fish that had a sparkling personality, and it seemed like my tank was suitable for it, DUE TO WHAT I READ, not any advise from a LFS employee. i DO NOT just throw a 100 dollar fish on my "credit card". i am paying my way through college as well as setting up a fish tank, and i do not throw money away!!! i feel no reason to justify my actions to you, but i BOUGHT a 180 gallon tank, and i am in the process of buying the equipment. it will be ready by christmas or soon after. i was hoping to have you and other assist me in changing the 90 to a reef, and setting up a suitable environment in the 180 for my current fish. i changed my mind on the angel i wanted. but i'm sure you have never seen a fish that you fell in love with and bought it. i have valued your input, and everyone else here. but you constantly expound on how this is a "flame free site", and yet, YOU are holding the lighter! well, with one post you have made me feel unwelcome here. thank you all for your help.

    [glow=Teal, 2, 90%]Roger,

    You are absolutely right. I was out of line with my post. I apologize and ask and hope that you will forgive me.

    As you and everyone on this board knows, I have been dealing with my own personal demons for the past week, and really haven't been myself. That is not an excuse for my behavior. It is simply a statement of fact that I hope you will take into consideration.

    Roger, you certainly have the right to buy any fish you want. And the Maculosus Angel is a beautiful fish indeed. I have seen marvelous specimens in friends tanks over the years, but I have never owned one.

    Yes, you can substitute the Map Angel for the Personifer easily and get the rest of your fish, just as planned. I'm sure everything will work out just fine.

    Again, Roger, forgive my rude and boorish response. I promise that it will not happen again.

    would now be an appropriate time to add the purple tang? i have cultivated a good growth of red macroalgae that i bought from floridapets.com and all the params are good. just thinking about minimizing conflict between the angel and any other additions.

    [glow=Red, 2, 80%]Hey Roger,

    Did you ever add that purple tang? I haven't heard from you in a while, and I was just curious. How are things going in your tank? Everything ok, I hope?

    Let us hear from you.[/glow]
