Marco rock has a really cheap price for sand...I couldnt find any feed back on the quality of sand...We have a 75gl tank and a 30gl fuge...is it worth buying this sand and is 80lbs enough? we also wanted to put a very very small layer of Shells and crushed shells on top of the aragonite for the look...

I've heard good things about Marco Rocks, never purchased myself though. Just make sure you do the proper washing etc of the sand and rock regardless of where you get it.

As far as how much sand is enough, are you making a DSB? I also went with the layer of crushed shells on top of my sand for looks, just be forewarned though that depending on what you have in your tank it will probably eventually be mixed up. Especially If you have a DSB with sand sifting livestock.

I have both the sand and the rock in my tank, I don't even look elsewhere anymore.

thanks for the advice, looks like i will be buying sand, 80 lbs of it ..Im not sure if 2" is deep but we are going for a little of everything...half LR and LS..enough to keep the rock from damaging the silicone or tank in general...

I used their sand but had to remove it because it's so fine my tunzes would cause a sand storm. I also have a lot a flow since my tank is all sps. Besides that it's great stuff :).
