Marco took some of his nice rocks and cut them in half and has started selling them for more natural back walls in your aquarium. Now your ugly back wall in your tank can come alive with Marco's 'Prime Cuts' and some silicone. Sure seems easier than playing with foam. And if you think about it, you gain some really interesting real estate for frags. Brilliant things are often simple it seems.

Marco also now has more mortar kits that work out to be a lot cheaper than epoxy if you feel like this weekend is the weekend to build that huge arch you've been talking about:

I'm pretty sure that another 3 reef member did this a few months back...not a bad idea just weird it to so long for people to catch on.

What he did was take his rocks and slice them. This is different, since it's meant to be put on the back wall.

Yeah, but you could make some very functional "natural" frag racks with this stuff too.....GROUP BUY????

cool post Matt & cool idea on the rocks. I'd love to make a wall of LR to cover the algae I'm too lazy to scrape. Hmmm, are there any ill effects not accessing the backwall as it grows algae and coraline?

There isn't anything wrong with algae other than it looks bad. Most people just let the coralline grow on the back wall anyway.

Sounds good, yeah my CUC is more interested in carpet surfing than cleaning my backwall (Nerites always jumping ship). I'll have to see if I can re-structure to hide the "green wall" as I call it, there's so little space to clean it manually with so this could be cool.
