    Thanks for the help..........

See what happens when you don't properly quarantine a fish!!!!!

Trying to get all the fish out of the display and into a QT. Treating with Cupramine. PB Tang died this morning (DAMN!!!). I hate ich. Looks like my display will be fishless for 8 weeks. I just hope I can get them all out in time to treat them. Catching them with all this live rock is a real pain. I purchase a clear trap, but after catching 2 of them in it the others have wised up and stay away from it now. I hate to starve them but if I don't get them into the QT they will die anyways from the ich. I have UV going 24/7 in the display now, but I know that won't rid the tank of it, but it might slow it down a lot.

Fish get Crypt when they are stressed and weak, for what is worth in my opinion quarantine tanks add to stress. Cyrpt further weakens the animal which then becomes susceptible to secondary infections – it’s the secondary infection that kills the fish, not the Crypt. Identifying the cause of the stress in the display tank is the challenge.

I am sorry to hear that you lost your tang, I hope you are able to save your clown and any other tank inhabitants.

    +1 to whats written above.

also a uv is good to have, it helps keep the water quality up and is said to boost a fishes immune system.

Sorry about your loss. Went through the same thing early this year. Just to catch the fish, I removed all of my rocks first. It was worth it. I think 7 out of 10 survived.

Thanks everyone....I'm going to do what I can. I hate to see them suffer. The PB Tang was my fav. He had a ton of personality. He'd come out and swim like crazy when I'd come home from work and when I pushed my face to the glass he'd come up and stare at me. He was breathing so hard last night I almost just put him out of his misery.

Guess I'm going to have to start tearing up the live rock and get everyone out of the pool!

I've leaned my lesson about using a QT. EVERYONE goes into the QT for 6 weeks from now on!
