marine salt mixes

im just curious what is everyone most fav marine salt mix to use. the one you swear buy.
id also like to know whats the worst kind you have ever tried and will never use again.


i absolutly love instant ocean. thats all i use. ive also tried red sea and found it okay but instant ocean disolves faster and my fish seem to just do better in it.

it seems to have lots of opinions.

i've been buying water from the lfs from his reef tanks.
has great cal kh ph and sal levels.
But i've been looking into salt mixes and buying a ro/di unit.
Have had alot of people recommend oceanic.

i think theres a thread on levels of sal mag kh of diff salt mixes

 

ive heard of kent and oceanic. never heard of ocean crystals. interesting. thanks

 

Ive used IO for my tank simply because that's the only brand carried in my city that i seem to be able to get in a 5 gallon buckets.
( all though i will not swear to it ) there's a few others that are far better than IO i think.
I willbe moving to coralife sea salt with the next purchase of salt's.
( have to purchase it online ,cant seem to find it any where here in the quanity i need )

 

I use to always use Coralife, then started using instant ocean simply because it was cheaper. Then about 6-9 months later I started getting cyanobacteria. Switched back to Coralife, cyanobacteria went away.

I currently use IO reef crystals. haven't tried any other yet. I use it because of the popularity here on 3reef and the easy availability. It does dissolve fast and seems to be doing great so far.
