Was doing a water change and touched the water and got the crap shocked out of me. Traced it to the Marineland heater. Pulled it out and it's got a big crack down the side of the tube. Less than 3 months old. I've read stories about them actually exploding so I guess it's good that didn't happen, but this kind of failure is unacceptable, too. Last one of these I ever use. I know they would probably replace it for free, but I'll never put another one in my tank. Luckily all the fish are in a quarantine tank right now. Taking recommendations on a heater for a 120g. The heater was a 300 watt and seemed sufficient. Would run maybe 30% of the time.

BTW, it's one of those pro stealth models.

I have never had that issue but don't blame you. Ebo Jager is supposed to be one of the best. 300W is fine, you could go down to 250W if the 300 was running 30% of the time of buy 2 150W heaters and place in opposite ends of the tank to keep from roasing your animals if the heater becomes stuck on.

I have blown 3 of the stealth pros up at work. I think they are complete crap and if you can find the old stealth go for that or the ebo jager titanium.
