I'm getting back into the saltwater tanks and was very excited to see LED lighting on the market. I've made some comments on the Marinland LED Reef Capable Light I have on a different thread, but since this is the second problem unit I have, I thought I start my own thread. I've purchased the 1st 18" Reef Capable (white and blue) unit at the LFS about 3 weeks ago. It looked great, the light was beautiful! about 2-3 days later 3 of the white lights started to flicker, then blue ones went out, then the 3 flickering whites went out. I've ordered a new one from Foster and Smith (as LFS didn't have another one my size), received it Friday, returned the first one. Today (Sunday) 3 of the white bulbs of the new unit are flickering and going off, making me very sad.
Has anyone else had that problem? I can't believe it would be the same issue, the bulbs in the same places that are going out. I even thought maybe I returned the wrong unit, but I know I didn't as all the lights on the new one worked fine yesterday...
If anyone could recommend a better LED light (brand, type) that they've used for more than a month without any issues you'd make my day!

    Thanks.

    Check out BoostLED

Fantastic product as well as top notch customer service. I have 3 of their PAR30 bulbs on my tank.

Yes,blue and white are very fantastic when they are shining into the tanks with saltwater.

Thanks everyone. I've researched and ordered boostled. While the customer service was outstanding, the light unit is too heavy for the acrylic canope of my 20g tank. Will have to return it, most likely, and try another marineland, 3rd time is the charm?

My first 18" RC led's did the same thing sort of. The first row of 3 whites went out, and 1 of the 2nd row, after flickering on and off they went out for good, so I returned them to my lfs and they got me another set, I havn't had any problems with this one and it's been running about 12-14hrs a day, with a 3 hours brake in the middle, for a few months now.
