Here's my summary from the other thread. Basically, they'll work fine for softies...my mushrooms are flourishing with them. However, they will not be equivalent to your T5 output. You'll need at least 2 of these fixtures to produce something equivalent in the 48"-60" setup (I had 8 T5 setup previously). However, I am still happy about them overall and don't regret my decision to switch (should of done it from the beginning to save $$).

Well, I finally made the switch to these Marineland Reef Capable LED's from my 72" Marineland Pro LIghting unit. I used 2x 36" units over my tank and they work great. While the lighting is not as bright as the ProLighting, overall I am very happy not to deal with the bulk, bulb replacement, and energy bill of the old unit. It's still pretty good for a deep tank like mine (72"x24"x24"), althought you really need like 4 of these fixtures if you want to grow anything more than softies. Pictures below for comparison sake.

I have them..I bought the 48inch marineland led (18k)and I think its not worth the money...not enough light intensity...others argue it is but...Its not..here's a thread that I read the other day...it will explain why I don't like this fixture...the worst $400 I ever spent.

Nice tank....but the thing about those l.e.d is...the deeper the tank...the less intensity...I guess in a shallow tank they would be ok.My Anenomes weren't happy;their color started fading they 2 of them stop eating...they weren't expanding the way they did under my t5's, the other 2 started moving closer(higher) to the light..which made me worried the would get caught in my power head.as soon as I put my t5's back on 2 days later they were expanded eating and their color was vivid again. To each is own...I just don't think going fromT5's to l.e.d is a move up...Its only a 1watt per l.e.d..thats not enough I.M.O....but good luck...:)

<Eek your sig hurts my eyes> How many of the lights did you buy for you tank? If you have an anemone, you'll need at least 2 48" if not 3. I plan on getting 4 of them for my 72" tank eventually, but they're sufficient for my softies for now. I have never said they were an upgrade, but i was happy about the weight, size, and the fact i don't have to replace bulbs. LIghting wise, it is not the same as a T5, well unless again you get like 3-4 of them.
