Marineland Stealth Heaters Silent Re-call/Refund?

(oops just saw the other thread, if the mods want to delete mine, no prob)

Amid lots of ongoing reports of failures in the Stealth brand of heaters, I interestingly received this e-mail from Dr. Fosters a few mins ago. It seems like Marineland is taking some public action, I love the "PLEASE STOP USING IT IMMEDIATELY", yipes. They missed the last step:

4. throw it from a 2nd floor window and hold fingers in ears

Anyone else get this? I have a 300w that worked well in my last tank, I no longer run it in my new one.

Marineland is investigating quality issues involving the Stealth PRO Submersible Heater line, and out of an abundance of caution, they have stopped selling 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 watt models. If you have questions about this stop sale or to return these heaters under your Marineland warrantees, please call Marineland Customer Service at 800-338-4896.
Please stop using it immediately and take the following steps:

1. Unplug the heater from the wall to stop the flow of electricity
2. Let the heater cool for 15 minutes
3. Remove the heater from the tank

Yeah, few people have gotten it on here..there are a few threads started about it..

I have in my tank, ive gotten a lil worried about it.

 

GET IT OUT IMMEDIATELY . Seriously though if I was still using it, this email may make me take it out just out of pure "told you so" situations.

 

Ik! its in a biocube too! and its all plastic back there in that compartment..It would destroy it..I dont have money until the 19th(16th birthday ) so hopefully ill get a new one then.

 

I would honestly send you a free replacement heater I have honestly 3 250w ones just lying around noone's using but they're all.....STEALTHS, oh lordy!

 

BUMMER!!! I need to get one ASAP, i am always at school thinking about it and what do i do if it explodes! haha

 

I'll check to see if I still had any of my Jager heaters lying around, but I think I sold them. I used to buy the Stealths because they matched the black background I had on my tank. Now I just use them for water mixing & grenades during ninja battles .
