I was looking at it at the lfs today they just got one in for me to try out. He wants some feedback and If I like it then I buy it. He told me the one that was designed with my aquaclear 300 wet dry is just not good enough and a cheap model and to upgrade. I have issues with the one that came with the wet/dry its overflowed a few times.

I still havent tried it yet either im talking with the owner of the lfs about the coralife 220 also so im confused still about all of this. It looks like a good design and he said it worked well at the trade show he went to but stimm im lost...... I guess anything is better then what I have heck I think I could splash water into a cup with my hand and get better results then the one that I got with my wet/dry.

ok I just put it in today I was impressed. the guy i deal with at the lfs is great comparing it to other models and what not. I decided to try it out and see how it goes. so far 5 hrs into it I have noticed its not all that difficult to adjust and I had some micro bubbles but toned it back just a hair and it was a-ok. I notice that even if I had it at the point that the bubbles were there then I was also over producing and getting water not skinmate. i have it set at what seems good with the bubbles at the top and things seem great. As with most of this hobby time will tell. I like the set up of this and the owner of the lfs seems to back it up. I am fortunate that I have good people to deal with there. Ill keep this posted. I have it in 6 in of water and did notice that it responded to the depth of 5 before I had to add water(just weekly top off).

Just a forth day. I have no micro bubbles and have been getting coffee grind like stuff out of it. the water look 10 times clearer. my wife compliments everydday that the water keeps getting clearer. Does skimming help with algae?

I was at Big Al's in Tamarac Fl. and they had the Marine Pro 300 hooked up to a 90 gal reef show tank and there was skimate in the cup and no microbubbles so I know it works. What he went through to get it right is something I don't know but Jay who works there said it's pretty good. I like the simplicity of it without all the pipes and excess pumps. The Barrier Reef in Boca Raton has 5 of them and discounted them to $200 which is aweful cheap. I might buy a new sump/refugium and cut a hole in the side of my cabinet and build a door just so it would fit. I have a 65 gal 36x18 and I'm not so sure if it would be practical but I like the asthetic look. I'll keep you posted!

I have it dialed in pretty good and still no micro bubbles pulling good skimate out of it. The water is alot clearer then the one I had before but it was junk so anything was better but I have been impressed by it so far. The owner of the lfs I deal with geve me a ton of options and great deals on everything but I am not dissapointed so far.

    Hi MJ,
That is the marine pro 100 that's going for $170 which is $30 off. The marine pro 300 is $260 and that's the one they are selling at $200 at the Barrier Reef in Boca Raton. They said after they sell 2 they will raise the price.
