    Hey guys,

I have been looking into Gold Band Maroon clown's. The guy at the LFS says they can get very aggressive over time. Has anybody had any experience with this.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Extremely aggressive.

Was once my favorite clown, I had a pair for 6 years and the male died during a move. I attempted on 2 occasions to introduce a new small male, both times she killed it within 10 minutes.

Well ok, then I will just forget the clown fish and tired adding a larger blue damsel, same results. Any fish, shrimp, crabs she killed.

In my experience with clowns, Tomato, Clarkii, and Maroons are the worst offenders.

Mine is such a punk... I love him.. beautiful. But he is a bastard. I ended up putting him in with the Mantis lol... He was fine with everything that was already there... but anything new is toast.

(I say he, but really I think it's a girl)

Aw dangit, should have done further research beyond liveaquaria summaries. I didn't realize there was much variance with clowns.

Do you think there's risk he'd kill a yellow tang if I add one in a few weeks? And if so, I love triggers, can he hold his own with a more aggressive breed like that?

Oh and not trying to hijack your thread Ryland, I'm just glad I saw this thread.

Thanks for the reply's. I'm glad someone else could get benefit from this post as well. Although I like the looks of this clown it doesn't seem to be a good candidate for the reef community.
