I have a small Maroon Clown for about 1 year now, he has just recently started acting a little funny, he keeps swimming down in the sand and fanning it all over the place, he is the only clown i have so i know its not eggs, is it? could this be some kind of try to rid himself of a parisite? he looks fine.

    he wants a anemone

    HI,

my true percula does this swims up and down just like my clarki in their anemone does, It may be instinctive to swim like that, like they are pretending they have one.:p
PS those anemones can be a pain in the ars I have 2 and they are very tempermental about water flow, light ,quality and chemistry, i find them harder to keep than many soft corals. and just about everything ticks them of and they move around till they wind up in a intake to a pump.

Although all that sand fanning is annoying, it's perfectly normal.

Weird.... Mine hangs out at the top of the tank. It'll swim around every once in awhile, but he likes it up by the heater.

Mine sleep at the top of the tank on top of a magnetic glass cleaner that we have. Once the lights come on it takes them about 10 minutes to fully wake up, however, when they do wake up the are constantly at the front of the tank....
