Maroons just started fighting again

Maroon help!

I have had one large wsm and one small gsm in my tank for over 3 months. When i first put the gsm(small) in with the wsm(large) they fought like i have read they are supposed to do. Then the fighting stopped for the most part and they evan sleep close together. Yesterday i got a new light with moonlights to help them try to mate. When i woke up this morning the wsm was really attacking the gsm (fins ripped up real bad). I have seperated the two by putting the gsm in a beata tank inside my large tank. What caused this?

 

"What changed?" I wonder if perhaps the light stressed them. I'd get (or make) an acclimation tank and get the removed fish back into the main tank, but in such a way as they're separate. See how they react.

Also possible you didn't notice them fighting before due to the lack of light

 

I had good light before and watch my tank for hours every day. I was wondering if the moon light made her attack him. He is in a bata tank in same tank she is in.
