Crappy phone pic just for you. The flat rock just above the wrasse is what I was talking about. Rocks are super stable and its easy to make caves below. Next scape I do is going to be done this way, but with larger shelf pieces to provide more dramatic overhangs. No wet mortar in the tank lol.

Thanks Jerry! I actually somewhat did that on a scale in my 28. That scape I thought came out nice the first time. I have a couple days so I will do some mental planning on how to fix that mess!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Marshall or Jerry

Can you use that the structure immediately after the bonding drys? The mortar and bonding products will not affect the pH?

    Marshall,

Welcome to the 125 crowd. (I"ll have my 180 up in 3 months hopefully)

Nice start all around. Awesome fish. You have some kind of mesh cover for the wrasse's?
    Nice sump set up too

Thanks Todd! And you should know me better than that (as far as keeping an open top with wrasses)! I actually have the evil, dreaded, tank crashing glass tops ;) I may buy or build a canopy at some point, but the glass tops do the job for now.

Thanks on the sumps too. I tried to keep it simple, yet effective, while leaving room for goodies such as future dosing pumps.

Problem I had with the glass tops was the wrasses would knock themselves silly

So far, in the limited ~1 year I have been keeping wrasses, only one has ever hit the top. My male Lubbock's does it every now and then. He is also the only one I have had jump out of a tank (twice now) while I was feeding. Otherwise none of my others have had any issues. I may still switch over to mesh tops; the glass ones came with the tank and changing them out was not high on my priority list of getting the tank up and running.

I do appreciate the anecdotal advice though. I always try to learn through what others have experienced when possible.
