    Thanks! ;D

Redundancy may be a good idea! I do have the digital temp sensor for the heater and I did by a cheap glass stick-on thermometer to check from the viewing side.

No controller purchased yet, but it is in the future plans, along with a webcam. I need to do a bit more research on controllers before I am comfortable making a buy.

Had some time on my hands today so I did a redesign concept on the stand and the viewing side of the tank. My contractor gave me some sound advice on the stand. More sturdy and simpler to build.

Cool. Like the bar too. Seems to be the hot thing with in wall tank builds and other styles.

That is going to be sweet. How long do you anticipate the renovation to take?

Thanks. It will be a cool place for guests to sit when we have movie nights. :)

I'm hoping to be cycling within 30 to 45 days. :)

Should hold w/2x6-2x8 beams but I would still put a vertical middle support on the outside beam on the back of the stand (well front if your looking at it from the back room).

    Ain't that the truth! :)

The beam at the back of the tank will be a 4x6 sitting on a notched 6x6. The front beam will be 2 2x6 on joist hangers off a king stud and 4x4 post. All four corners of the tank will be sitting directly over the posts. There will be 2x6 on joist hangers between the front and rear beams. The top will be inch thick plywood. Hoping to park a 747 on top of that baby. :)

First photo is another concept just for color ideas. Second photo is the fish tank display wall after removal. The wall was improperly secured to the concrete so we removed it entirely. Third photo is my daily goody that arrived...the Tunze ATO 3155. ;D

Productive weekend even if it wasn't all about the build. :)

Photo 1 is the 4x10 beam we purchased to eliminate the old load-bearing wall between the laundry room and reef room. This will alow us to open it up into one large space.

Photo 2 is the rest of the lumber needed to pull this off. We will make a temporary wall in both side of the current wall to support the roof so we can get the posts and beams put into place.

Photo 3 is some landscaping we did yesterday. Move a couple trees by the walkway and added some bricks for a raised flower bed area. We were going to do the other side of the porch but the weather is a little wet today.

I also bought some 3/4" braided hose so we can do a temporary move of the hot water heater. This will help free up room so we can demo the floor in the laundry room and add new plumbing for the water heater and my soon to be RO/DI station and wash basin sink.

I will attempt to move the water heater tonight, but my wife has informed me it will have to wait until after her shower. ::)
