Finished moving the water heater to it's temprary home while we rip up the floor in the old laundry room to move plumbing and demolish the load-bearing wall to put in a new beam.

Photo 1 shows the old location of the water heater. Photo 2 shows it's new temporary home.

Construction of temporary load-bearing wall begins tomorrow, then beam placement. After that, new floor and fish tank display wall!

    Ahhhhh... Remodeling....

Bringing back both good and painful memories. Hoping that yours are good from here on out through the end of the project. :)

Good luck on the load bearing wall!

As you can see in the first photo some progress was made yesterday. The initial temporary support wall was put in place to prepare for beam installation. The second wall should be in place today. Also the two windows on the rear wall were framed over. I also received my 2 back-ordered 2" bulkheads from marine depot. :)

Made some purchases today for my QT tank and for salt mixing...

    * Mr. Aqua 33.6 Gallon Frameless Glass 24.8 x 17.7 x 17.7 (good for viewing fish to check for issues)
    * 24 Inch 2x24 Watt AquaticLife T5 HO Light Link Fixture (to aid visual inspection of QT'd fish)
    * Hydor Koralia Nano Evolution Powerhead 425 GPH
    * Cobalt Neo-Therm 75w Heater
    * Sicce Shark 2 (for filtration)

I will have no substrate, or rock in the QT tank. Just maybe a few PVC pieces for shelter. Also, I will vacuum up the detritus from the bare bottom to minimize risk of spikes.

Also bought a few things needed for my salt water reservoir for WC's...

    * Cobalt Aquatics Accu-Therm 75 Watt Heater (for salt mix reservoir)
    * Hydor Koralia Evolution Circulation Pump/Powerhead 600 gph (for salt mix reservoir)

Already on hand is a 20 gallon Brute container for mixing. I have another Brute 20g to serve as the ATO reservoir for my Tunze Osmolator.

The second support wall went up yesterday, so the old wall is out. :) A major mileston will be met today as the beam is going in to replace the load bearing wall. Once finished we can start on the display wall and all the wiring and the plumbing for the tank outlets and RO/DI station with new sink.

Once done all that is left is insulation and dry-wall. :) Also need to install the humidity fan in the ceiling.

    It's coming along!

My sand from reefrocks.net had arrived over a week ago, but my 150 pounds of base rock was nowhere to be found. I sent an email to them this morning and apparently UPS lost the shipment. They informed me they sent another shipment out today and gave me a tracking number. :)

    Beam is in!

Major milestone accomplished today. The beam that replaced the load bearing wall is in and the temporary walls have been removed. :) The floor has also been completely demolished and removed as well.

We will need to go to the hardware store tonight to get a few more pieces of lumber so we can start framing out the floor tomorrow. Once the floor is in we can start rerouting the plumbing.
