The test fit went beautifully. It fit like a glove. I painted some Henry's water guard around the inside framing to protect from moisture. The drilling went about as well as I expected. Scary. Had a few minor chips on the outside of the glass. I will hit these with a little sand paper to smooth the edge. I lost my light so I will have to drill the last two holes tomorrow. :(

Looking really good. Hey, when I did my in-wall, my contractor built a really cool shadowbox frame for the display side of it. It came out awesome. If you are uncertain how you want that part to look, let me know and I can send you some detailed pictures. We really struggled with how to make it look right at first, and the way he ended up doing it exceeded my expectations.

    Thanks. :)

Thanks. We haven't decided on paint or fabric. I'm leaning paint at the moment.

I would love to see a picture of that if you have one handy. Right now we are thinking of 5" trim around the tank and then another smaller level of trim further out from that.

Showing 2" bulkheads added for closed loop drains one and two. Also shows cabinets installed above tank for test kit and food storage. My LED lights will also hang from the underside of these cabinets.

    Hi Marty,

Here are a couple of close ups of the trim work we did around my in wall - I am not sure if shadow box is the right term for it...but I think it is. One photo has my finger in it so you can see that the trim is extra deep, my builder came up with this idea and I liked it. I did lose a little bit of glass viewing space...about 1/2 inch all the way around the tank, but it really makes the tank look like it is part of the wall - it is virtually seemless.
