Unless you go topless, a screen is favored over glass.

the glass gets spray, droplets, etc., cuts down some light, and it is said the gasseos exchange isn't as good either.

I recently re-scaped, and moved corals around again! I'm posting nes pics and a DT vid later today. I hope you'll view

Your build is looking awesome, and as I have said the 180's footprint is one of my favorites. It's like a ~50% front to back deeper 125!

Photo #1: QT tank getting set-up tonight. Ordering my first fish on Friday for a 30 day QT and prophylactic treatment.

Photo #2 Shows the sight glass indicator at work, draining the FW into my QT along with RO/DI water to speed fill up.

Photos #3 and 4: Heater installed and calibrated on fish tank. Discovered the glass needs to come off (way too warm in there) it's cooling off now. I had considered a mesh top, sold on that now. Then again, my sump/fuge my aid with the heat issue, so maybe the glass can go back on. I have a month or so to fudge with that.

No word yet on my sump/fuge, but I am hoping it shipped today. Getting a little frustrated as I want to get it plumbed and overflowing from DT!

Your set up looks flawless. Lovin it. Will definitely get the SCWD I got my pump today. Trying to come up with a plan. Your reef room was definitely helpful.

Thanks. My wife gave me 25 inches off the wall in the new laundry room and I took it all. :)

Thanks, glad you can get some ideas from it and it can benefit someone. Good luck with your SCWD's if you have any questions send me a PM.

Freakin awesome Marty!!!!! I did notice that the strainers on your intake to the pumps have very fine openings, since they will be under lights, I would keep an eye on coraline algae and debris clogging them up, kinda like it does to Koralias. Other than that, you have built my dream fish room!!!

Thanks, Robman. :) Yeah, I noticed those strainers are already picking up gunk. I have a couple spares just in case, but figure they'll need a good cleaning one a month or so.

Gotta have them or something above the weir to keep fish out. I had a Sleeper Railway Glider Goby hop over and clog up my drains causing about a 20 gallon overflow... No Bueno.
